the club has enjoyed playing success over the years, winning local and national leagues, and cup competitions - recent years have seen a resurgence in fortunes with the sncl first division being won in 2004 - a year the rowan cup was also won - the scottish plate being won in 2005, a runners-up place being achieved in the 2006 west league cup, and 2007 seeing the club win the rowan cup again and the scottish region of the ecb cockspur cup. the progression at all levels in recent years is also reflected by the club's under 12s winning the wjcu league in 2005, and no fewer than four junior age group teams winning their leagues in 2007 (under 11s, 13s, 15bs and 15s). and the shawholm xi won back-to-back promotions to reach the first division of the western union for the first time, in 2005 and 2006.
arguably the club's greatest day however was the 1984 scottish cup victory.
the ground, too, has seen a number of famous days: the first ever televised cricket match in scotland, international matches and, in 2006, three matches in the european championships.
